Directors (Voted On) We usually have about seven Directors to ensure that we have enough present at a gymkhana if a decision has to be made about whether or not to proceed if the weather turns bad during the course of the day. Directors are also needed to occasionally make decisions between the monthly meetings if a matter is urgent. They are generally involved with the Club activities on a regular basis.
Membership Co-ordinator - It involves keeping track of the members’ names, addresses and phone numbers, and providing up-to-date lists as needed. At a Club activity, the Membership Co-ordinator should be able to provide information about the Club to new members, issue a receipt and a membership card to a new member, and have a new member complete the Membership Form so that all the member’s information is available for the Club’s records. It is important that the Membership Co-ordinator be able to attend the majority of the Club’s functions which could involve new members or potential new members attending.
Gymkana Co-ordinator Another big job – equipment is stored at the Strathmore Ag grounds in the storage shed under the announcer’s stand on the north side of the arena the Club uses, but it still has to be checked to make sure that all the items are useable, checking the stop watches to make sure they are working prior to the day, checking the batteries in the bull horn, or any other sound system we are using, to ensure it doesn’t go dead part way through the day, making sure we have flour for the lines, arranging for help in the arena (including time keepers, an announcer, gate person, ring steward, someone to hand out ribbons, and people to help set up and take down the barrels, poles, etc). This job can be shared.
